Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer at Southern Peru Copper Corporation
He is the Vice President of Finance, Treasurer, and CFO of Southern Copper Corporation. Throughout his career, he has been involved in various initiatives at Southern Copper, overseeing bond issuances totaling $8 billion and other mining transactions worth $4.5 billion. In 2021, he was named the best Chief Financial Officer in the Latin American mining industry by the prestigious publication Institutional Investor; prior to that, he was ranked among the top three CFOs in the industry on four occasions (2014–2020). Between February 2021 and January 2023, he served as President of the National Society of Mining, Petroleum, and Energy. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Universidad del Pacífico, a Master’s degree in Economics, and is a PhD candidate at the University of Texas at Austin. He also holds a degree in Applied International Management from the Swedish Institute of Management in Stockholm and an Executive Management degree from IE Business School in Madrid.
