SIMPOSIO – XVI International Mining Meeting to Set the New Mining Agenda and its Impact on Peru’s Development

The SIMPOSIO – XVI International Mining Meeting, organized by the National Society of Mining, Petroleum, and Energy (SNMPE), is established as the private sector’s premier gathering for analyzing the challenges and opportunities facing Peruvian mining. Within a global context marked by political and economic volatility, this event reaffirms its relevance as a key space for shaping the national mining agenda and its contribution to the country’s sustainable development. Through open and constructive debate, the SIMPOSIO connects the mining industry with Peru’s present and future, driving innovation, development, competitiveness, and dialogue among diverse stakeholders.
Under the theme “Mining that integrates, builds the present, and transforms the future,” the SIMPOSIO highlights the role of formal and responsible mining as an essential driver of national development. This gathering emphasizes how mining can create synergies with sectors such as agriculture, tourism, infrastructure, and commerce, driving a more diversified and inclusive economy. The international meeting will take place from May 26 to 28, 2026, at the JW Marriott Hotel (Lima) and will bring together representatives from the industry, regional governments, academia, the banking sector, and the international community.
