{"id":7188,"date":"2021-07-27T17:27:55","date_gmt":"2021-07-27T22:27:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.simposium-del-oro.snmpe.pe\/meeting-iii-of-the-road-to-the-symposium-took-place\/"},"modified":"2022-01-20T17:28:55","modified_gmt":"2022-01-20T22:28:55","slug":"meeting-iii-of-the-road-to-the-symposium-took-place","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.simposio.pe\/en\/meeting-iii-of-the-road-to-the-symposium-took-place\/","title":{"rendered":"Meeting III of the Road to the Symposium took place"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;7px&#8221;][vc_column_text] As part of preparations towards the 14th Gold, Silver and Copper Symposium, the SNMPE has been promoting a series of events &#8220;On the Road to the Symposium&#8221;, where relevant topics for the industry are addressed.<br \/>\nOn July 20, the Dialogue &#8220;Companies and Human Rights: Challenges, Advances and Opportunities in the Mining and Energy Sector&#8221; was held as part of the Meetings on the Road to the Gold, Silver and Copper Symposium organized by the SNMPE.<br \/>\nThe event was attended by Eduardo Vega, former Minister of Justice and Human Rights; Jaime G\u00e1lvez, former Minister of Energy and Mines; Igor Salazar, President of the National Committee of Companies and Human Rights of CONFIEP, and member of the Board of Directors of the SNMPE; Germ\u00e1n Zarama, OECD analyst; and Sonia Lou, President of the Human Rights Committee of the SNMPE.<br \/>\n&#8220;This has been a firm commitment to dialogue. The recent approval of the National Action Plan on Companies and Human Rights (PNA) shows a maturity and good will of all the stakeholders, the 132 State institutions, the business sector, civil society. This is one of the most comprehensive public policies we have, and after two years the willingness to maintain this process has persevered,&#8221; said the then Minister of Justice.<br \/>\n&#8220;From the very beginning, I recognize, there has been an active participation of the SNMPE and CONFIEP, as well as of other groups. I believe this has contributed to have today a document that reflects an important consensus based on dialogue, and where the discrepancies have been dissipating due to the profoundness of the discussions&#8221;, added the Minister.<br \/>\nIn turn, Jaime G\u00e1lvez, from Energy and Mines, positively emphasized &#8220;the due diligence in the risk management by the companies&#8221;; calling to identify opportunities to contribute to Human Rights in the area of influence of the companies.
