The tribute included remarks from Diego Ortega, President of the SIMPOSIO&#8217;s organizing committee, and Julia Torreblanca, President of the SNMPE, who highlighted Velarde&#8217;s remarkable contributions to the country&#8217;s development.<\/p>\r\n<p>During her speech, Torreblanca emphasized that this recognition reflects the feelings of the business community, the mining and energy sector, and the general public regarding work that has been key to sustaining the national economy.<\/p>\r\n<p>The president of the SNMPE noted that Peru has faced complex periods marked by uncertainty. In this context, she emphasized that Velarde&#8217;s career and work &#8220;have contributed decisively to the macroeconomic stability of our country&#8221;. In this regard, she indicated that his presence at the BCRP &#8220;has been fundamental in preserving an economy that does not negatively impact citizens and that is a crucial element of confidence for investment&#8221;.<\/p>\r\n<p>Torreblanca attributed this progress directly to Velarde&#8217;s leadership, whose management of the BCRP has been characterized by &#8220;rigor, prudence, and serenity,&#8221; qualities also confirmed by the international community.<\/p>\r\n<p>For industries like mining, energy, and hydrocarbons\u2014which operate with long-term horizons\u2014stability is the essential starting point for any productive activity. The president of the SNMPE emphasized that without entities capable of defending technical criteria against external pressures, planning large-scale projects is unfeasible.<\/p>\r\n<p>The business representative emphasized the importance of Velarde&#8217;s career as a role model of public service for new generations, highlighting qualities such as hard work, objectivity, and a long-term vision. &#8220;Young people need real-life role models\u2014individuals who embody genuine public service and work with objectivity, prudence, and a long-term vision.
