{"id":16678,"date":"2026-04-08T14:29:14","date_gmt":"2026-04-08T19:29:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.simposio.pe\/?p=16678"},"modified":"2026-04-08T14:29:14","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T19:29:14","slug":"xvi-simposio-to-discuss-public-policy-proposals-for-the-next-administration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.simposio.pe\/en\/xvi-simposio-to-discuss-public-policy-proposals-for-the-next-administration\/","title":{"rendered":"XVI SIMPOSIO To Discuss Public Policy Proposals for The Next Administration"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;liAmarillo&#8221;]<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><strong><mark class=\"has-inline-color\" style=\"background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); color: #d2a015 !important;\">The international mining event, organized by the SNMPE, will bring together business leaders and experts to propose priority reforms to the incoming administration in the areas of investment, competitiveness, and institutional frameworks.<\/mark><\/strong><br \/><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<!-- \/wp:post-content -->\r\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><br \/><strong>Lima, April 8, 2026. <\/strong>The SIMPOSIO &#8211; XVI International Mining Conference, organized by the National Society of Mining, Petroleum, and Energy (SNMPE), will provide a forum for discussing the main public policy guidelines that should be part of the country\u2019s agenda, given the political context of an incoming new government and the growing challenges facing the Peruvian economy.<\/p>\r\n<p>The roundtable: \u201cMain Public Policy Approaches for the New Administration\u2019s Proposals\u201d will seek to build consensus and present concrete business-sector proposals, with a focus on promoting investment, improving the country\u2019s competitiveness, and strengthening the government\u2019s administrative capacity.<\/p>\r\n<p>Luis Miguel Castilla, executive director of Videnza Institute and former Minister of Economy and Finance, will lead the discussion and guide it toward identifying priority economic and institutional reforms. Mr. Castilla points out that the country needs to move toward a clear reform agenda that will restore economic dynamism, streamline processes, and create more predictable conditions for investment\u2014aspects that, he emphasized, must be central pillars of the next administration.<\/p>\r\n<p>The panel will feature Felipe James, president of the National Society of Industries (SNI); Julia Torreblanca, president of the SNMPE; David Tuesta, president of the Private Competitiveness Council; and Antonio Cusato Novelli, a World Bank Economist for Peru, who, from a multisectoral perspective, will discuss the main structural challenges facing Peru, such as regulatory overload, weak institutional coordination, and infrastructure gaps.
