Therefore, we cannot compromise on investment or planning if we want a system prepared for scenarios of increased demand, extreme weather events, or operational contingencies\u201d, he stated.<\/p>\r\n<p>The panel is part of the strategic objectives of the XVI SIMPOSIO, which seeks to create a space for technical reflection on the main challenges facing various industries. In this context, energy is presented as a cross-cutting axis to evaluate the viability of current and future projects, as well as the country&#8217;s competitiveness as an investment destination.<\/p>\r\n<p>The session will highlight the strengths of the Peruvian electrical system compared to others in the region, addressing key concepts such as reliability\u2014the ability to operate continuously\u2014and resilience, understood as the speed of recovery from failures caused by weather events, transmission problems, or disturbances in system operation. Likewise, it will allow for the identification of improvement opportunities that require coordinated efforts among all industry stakeholders.<\/p>\r\n<p>Another core pillar of the panel will be the energy transition, analyzed from the Peruvian reality and its multiple resources. It will address the challenges that this transition poses for generators, transmitters, distributors, and customers, both unregulated and regulated\u2014in a context marked by the incorporation of renewable energies, battery storage, self-production, distributed generation, and electric mobility.<\/p>\r\n<p>\u201cPeru has a strong electrical industry, the result of significant investments throughout the entire chain. However, the new technological and climatic environment forces us to analyze scenarios that did not exist before and to prepare ourselves to guarantee sufficient, efficient, and reliable supply under any circumstance,\u201d he added.<\/p>\r\n<p>The panel stands out within the XVI SIMPOSIO agenda for addressing one of the topics with the greatest impact on mining: the electrical supply of its operations.
