Sebastián Benavides
Discovery Manager - Andes for Anglo American
Sebastian is a Geological Engineer from Colorado School of Mines, USA and has a MSc. in Economic Geology from the ARC centre of Excellence in Ore Deposits & Earth Sciences (CODES) of the University of Tasmania, Australia. His career focus has been on exploration of world class Copper deposits, working in South America, Zambia and Panama. Currently, Sebastian is the Discovery Manager - Andes for Anglo American, where he leads exploration teams in the region and leads the Near-Asset exploration efforts in Quellaveco. Previously, Sebastian was the Exploration Manager for Peru-Ecuador for First Quantum MInerals and has been a professor at PUCP University in Peru. Sebastian was also the 2023 ProExplo conference President.
