Rodrigo Darquea
Corporate Development and M&A team for Latin America
Rodrigo holds a degree in Business Administration from Adolfo Ibáñez University in Chile, with further studies in Creating Shared Value at Harvard Business School and at the Corporate Affairs Academy at the University of Oxford. He has extensive experience in the mining industry. He joined BHP in 2006 as part of the finance team at Spence and later moved to Singapore, where he held various global business roles. In 2011, he returned to Chile as Regional Marketing Manager for the Americas, and in 2016, he assumed the role of Chief of Staff to the Global CFO in Melbourne, Australia. In 2019, he moved to Brazil as Head of Corporate Affairs, supporting remediation efforts following the Samarco dam collapse. Since 2021, he has lived in Quito, where he led BHP’s growth agenda and is currently part of the Corporate Development and M&A team for Latin America. He served as Vice President of the Ecuadorian Mining Chamber and Director of WIM Ecuador.
