David Tuesta

David Tuesta is Chairman of the Private Council for Competitiveness and a founding partner of the consulting firm Ronin360. He has served as Minister of Economy and Finance. In addition, he has served the Peruvian government at various times as a member of the board of directors of Petroperú; a member of the Executive Council of the Energy and Mining Supervisory Agency; a member of the Treasury Committee of the Ministry of Economy and Finance; and as Manager of Economic Studies at SUNAT. He held senior management positions at BBVA in Peru and Spain for 17 years; and served as Director of Strategy at the Andean Development Corporation (CAF) in Spain. He advises governments in various countries on economic reforms; and is a frequent consultant to the IDB, the World Bank, and the OECD. He has authored more than a dozen books on economic topics as well as research published in prestigious scientific journals, where he is one of the most cited academics internationally. David Tuesta holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) and a Master’s degree in Public Affairs and Economics from the University of Minnesota in the United States of America.
